Although I jump for joy when it comes to clean outdoor light, outdoor sessions are usually not the first choice for my clients with little ones in the colder months. When we don’t have the ability to go outside in the cold in Minnesota, a studio is wonderful choice for photos! Here is a list of studios I love and recommend to my clients first. 1. Brooke Elisabeth Studio – Ramsey, Minnesota
There are so many things I love about Brooke Elisabeth Studio! First of all, it is a beautifully designed and well-lit studio. There is a whole wall of windows letting in beautiful morning and afternoon light. There are several little corners for photo moments: a fireplace, benches, a day bed, the windows and many backdrops to choose from! There is a lot of white – white floors, walls, fireplace (which means it reflects beautiful bright light up towards your faces!) I also love the seasonal installs in the studio – like this gorgeous spring set up for the 2025 season.
2. The Workshop – Minnetonka, Minnesota
The Workshop is a studio located in Minnetonka Minnesota – a great central location! This studio is clean, modern and white! There is a boucle couch, chair and small ottoman for photos. There are also several chair options in black or light wood. I also love that there is a baby basket for my newborn clients! I love that the far wall is tall, floor to ceiling windows, letting in beautiful morning light. Here are a few sessions I have loved at this studio:
3. Studio Luna – Minneapolis, Minnesota
Studio Luna is absolutely gorgeous with the light wood floors, bright walls and a full room of windows! I also love that there is a custom painted backdrop for portraits. I just had a few headshots done at this studio and fell in love!
An Additional Note: Not only are studios great for family sessions, but a great option for extended family sessions (larger groups) or weddings! If your venue doesn’t have a room to get ready in, a studio would be a great option to rent and get ready in – with the added bonus of beautiful photos at the same time!
